Estee Lauder: Advanced Night Repair Concentrated Recovery PowerFoil Mask - Buy or not?

Tonight for the first time I tested the new Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Concentrated Recovery PowerFoil Mask, and I have to say I was quite impressed.  Usually with new skin care products I'm a bit skeptical and try not to give in to hype and marketing; however, being that I have been using Advanced Night Repair for about 10 years now, I knew this was one product that I needed to try.  After seeing this on a few of my favorite bloggers Instagrams and other social media platforms a few weeks before even launching, the buzz was out and people were raving about this new foil mask.

Before explaining my experience, let's explain what it is.

What is it?

PowerFoil. High-performance foil-backed sheet mask creates a protective barrier, allowing our potent technologies to penetrate fast and deep within skin's surface and helping to lock in moisture.
2X Hyaluronic Acid. Each treatment delivers a surge of liquid revitalization, immersing skin in a double dose of Advanced Night Repair Serum's powerful moisture magnet. Also includes our proven ChronoluxCB™ technologies. Experience an ultimate infusion of youthful moisture.
Apply on clean skin, once a week at night. Remove mask, carefully unfold and apply bottom half first, then top half. Leave on for 10 minutes, then remove mask and gently massage in any remaining liquid.

No on to my experience.

Initially, taking this out of the packaging, I felt it was really nice and viscous yet not drippy and well saturated in product.  It comes in two stages for better skin adherence and was pretty straight forward applying. One CON about the product, atleast for men that is, is that it doesn't stick well to facial hair.  So if you don't mind shaving, or holding this mask in place, then it really shouldn't be a problem.

Once on, it's hard not wanting to take a million selfies, because not only does this feel amazing once it touches skin; you also look like a total badass with this iron face.  I see why it caused such a buzz so quickly, not only is it great it looks cool and somewhat creepy all at once.

To help with it not adhering well to facial hair, I just went to my bed and adjusted as needed while laying down.  After about a few minutes of having the mask on, it started to tingle, felt very active (similar to how you feel when using an exfoliating acid toner) and it also had a warming effect, but nothing too intense.

After 10 minutes the mask still felt wet and like a good amount of product was still on it, and then the big reveal.  I expected my skin to be red after feeling the tingling for about ten minutes, but the second I took the mask off my skin looked slippery, hydrated and so even toned.  I have never had anything calm my skin and hydrate so effectively but without feeling sticky or greasy.  I patted in the excess and just let the serum texture sit until fully absorbed.

Above is the after immediately after peeling the mask off. My skin felt younger, smoother and just properly in balance.  Typically my skin is quite red, dry in the cheeks and shiny in the forehead, I even took this photo with my ring light which typically blows out these imperfections, but as you can see my skin looked even and balanced.

There was no moisturizer or serum added before this picture.

This is definitely a product that I will be buying again and most likely using religiously.

It retails for $79 for a set of 4 sheet masks.  Totally worth the investment.
